About St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church
    St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church was established in 1912, when Bishop Eugene Garvey of the Altoona Diocese gave permission for the building of a Church in Mount Union. It began as a mission of Most Holy Trinity Church in Huntingdon, PA, and became an independent parish on July 1, 1921. St. Mary Parish in Shade Gap became a Mission of St. Catherine until becoming an independent parish in June 7, 1962.Â
